EVENTS & LESSONS

Classes are held on Monday nights from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Warm-ups begin around 7:15. Several songs are played after the lesson so you can practice. Check out the schedule using this link: Dance Schedule.

Dues are $15 monthly per person, which includes dance lessons, discounts on all club events, and updates on dance events around Atlanta. To become a member of the CWSC, there is a one-time $15 application fee. The first month’s dues, plus the application fee, are paid at the time you join.

Monday Night Lessons are also available for Non-Club Members at $15/Night. If you sign up during your first visit, the $15 is applied to the first month’s dues.

Dances are taught on a rotating basis and include beginner through advanced dancer levels. The dances include Two Step, Waltz, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, and Night Club Two, each dance usually lasting 3 – 5 weeks. The first lesson of each dance reviews the basics and includes some basic moves. Each week’s lesson builds on the previous week and becomes slightly more advanced each week. While it is helpful to start from the beginning, it is certainly not a requirement. You may join in any week you wish, and we will review the previous week’s material so you can catch up. Bring a partner if you have one. If you don’t, it’s not a problem; there are usually plenty of partners to dance with. Either way, we have a lot of fun and learn some very cool moves.

Bill Robinson, a founding member of the Club, is the Presiding President. Bill is a member of The United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC) and, in 1999, was inducted into the UCWDC Hall of Fame. Bill is one of the Premier Dance Instructors in the United States and has traveled the world teaching, judging, and promoting Country & Western Dance. Bill is also the Director of the Peach State Country Western Dance Festival and the Atlanta All-Star Swing Fling and the co-director of the Nashville Dance Classic.

Classes are currently taught by Wray Sisk, who has been an integral part of the Club since 1996. He has performed roles ranging from dance instructor to DJ, sound and music director to event administrator at Peach State, Nashville Dance Classic, and the UCWDC World’s Dance Championships, and club Board Director—a title he has held for over 16 years.

In his 21-year instructional role teaching both group & private lessons, Wray provides a solid mix of dance technique, pulling from his own years of dance experience and other experts in the field, as well as a healthy dose of “just get moving” to make even the novice dancer feel comfortable to improve their dance skills and quality of life.
